Although Hollywood certainly takes notice of books (Jaws, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, etc.),  sometimes Hollywood doesn’t take notice of your book. If you’re determined to see your book turned into a film or TV project, you may want to pursue that path directly by having your story written as a screenplay. The screenplay is the native language tool of Hollywood. Screenplays are specially formatted so that producers and agents can see exactly how long your story is. For instance, one page of screenplay should fit one minute of screen time. Therefore, a 90 page screenplay is a 90 minute movie. Studios then understand better how to estimate costs and judge where the show or film might fit in their production schedules or line ups.  Producers use screenplays to set up projects at studios and get the attention of star talent. Agents use screenplays to determine who they will represent and as writing samples for their clients.

Once your Hollywood Screenplay is complete, if you choose, we can submit your work to our production friends and partners, How it works:

• A screenwriter will complete a screenplay based on your approved Hollywood Treatment.
• Screenplay elements will include character dialogue and detailed action of the story.
• Once your screenplay is prepared, we will register it in your name with the Writer’s Guild of America West to protect your interest.
• If our production partners are interested, they will contact you directly to discuss moving forward. Media City will be avaiable to help you, if you desire.
• If our current production partners are not motivated to move forward with your screenplay, we will continue to show it to interested future partners. Additionally, your screenplay will be added into our exclusive Hollywood Database where it will be accessible to directors, producers, actors and agents.
• The screenwriter waives all rights to your screenplay, so you maintain full ownership of your story.
